Gentle Healing Wind is Storming!
Now, the inspiration of the elements has Gentle Wind in a flurry!
She has written several songs recently and is recording and fine-tuning the sound and rhythm.
Since her song White Buffalo, GW wrote 8 songs. The most recent inspired by the oil spill and the outreach to inform others -- The Time Has Come was just recorded and awaiting a percussion track for the CD. Here is Gentle Wind is with Roy Peak at his recording studio. (see http://www.roypeak.com/)
More to come on that front.
Keep your earbuds tuned in!

2. Glory Circles' focus is on fun and celebration.
Having a birthday or anniversary and want to celebrate? This is the way to do it.
Firestorm and Gentle Wind bring their talents in a performance style event.
They'll sing, play guitar, begin a drum circle for your group, go on a cruise with you and friends and howl at the moon or just drum up a storm. They'll do a booth a ArtWalks or city and community events. They'll perform at Open Mic.
Wherever there is a Glory Circle there will be fun and celebration. Corporate Team Building? Family Reunion? Beach Bash?
Name it! They'll Meet You There!!!!! They are always - Just a Beat Away! The Glory is in the Circle.
3. Sacred Circles will gather with the intention of healing and mind travel.
With Sacred Circles, Gentle Wind will sing and chant as you are given the sacred space to meditate and just 'be.' Yoga classes, healing and grieving moments, inspirational gatherings for writing, creating, or brainstorming. Moments to be quiet and still. Shamanic Journeys happen at Sacred Circles. Their Rhythm and Words Series is handled in a Sacred Circle where inspirational rhythms are played on the drum and stream writing follows bringing out the depth of one's creative inner being.
An experience not soon forgotten and often sought after frequently to continue tapping into the silence in us that allows creative flow.
If you haven't yet, be sure to experience your own Sacred Circle.
4. Open Drum Circle - open drumming for everyone and all ages.
Their Open Drum Circle is always happening on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month at the Resonance Center in Jax Beach where everyone that gathers brings joy. For more information on the drum circle, call 904-334-5290. They have extra drums just in cases. No experience necessary.
That about sums up the most recent doings!

Hands Across The Sand
Then one day....
Heart2Heart Circles participated in the Hands Across the Sand (HATS) gathering that took place in Jacksonville Beach, Fl on Saturday, June 26. They were over 260 of the hundreds of thousands of citizens across the country organized in similar events to stand up against expanded drilling off America's shores.
Part of Heart2Heart's mission is to connect the mind, body, heart, and soul of all people in a circle of harmony. This gathering allowed them to form a circle with others across the country as they all stood in unity with an historic outpouing of support to 'Stop Offshore Drilling - Find Alternative Fuels'.
In the midst of the largest oil spill in the nation's history, they asked.....'What's it going to take to protect the nation's beaches from more oil drilling once and for all?'
Hands Across the Sand began with a flash rally earlier this year in Florida and quickly turned into the largest-ever gathering of citizens united against drilling -- and for protecting the state's famous shores.
Gentle Wind - Lynn - attended the gathering in Jax Beach (see above photo) that was coordinated by Holly and Firestorm - me attended the gathering across the country in Alameda, California since she was on vacation out west at Yosemite Valley with her White Knight Husband, Frank, and were headed to the coast around 9AM when the research showed that due to the time difference, they wouldt have to miss the HATS gathering at all. They could make the 12 noon gathering in Alameda (just out of San Francisco).....if they hurried!!!!!!
In the Firestorm way, and as if they were in a sports car rally and headed to checkpoints throughout the state, they pressed the pedal to the medal (within reason) and headed for Crown Beach in Alameda. They were just in time to participate in the Hands Across the Sand at that location. Truly a coast to coast connection.!!
Carol Dvora was the coordinator for the Alameda gathering. She was so gracious to Firerstorm when she ran up to them and excitedly shared the story of the Florida/California connection and pretty much crashed their event. Here is the photo of some of the group attending and the link for more information and article. (http://jacksonville.com/community/shorelines/2010-06-28/story/hundreds-hold-hands-across-sand-along-beaches-protest-offshore)
Serendipitously -- It was 45 years to the month, that Firestorm graduated from Alameda High School and moved to Florida. Now, here she was coming returning from Florida to California to make the connection. Certainly a serendipitous moment for her!
Until our next post -- Firestorm, signing off this time.

Introducing . .. . . . .Heart2HeartCircles
Hello Friends, Family, and Community!
Welcome to our Heart2HeartCircles New Blog!!!!.
We extend our welcome to an entirely new community forming from our heart2heart connection with you.
We would like to introduce ourselves.............
WE ARE:
Marilyn Ashe Wilson
(aka Firestorm of Divine Energy)
and
Lynn Rose Curtin
(aka Gentle Healing Wind)
WE ARE:
HEART2HEART CIRCLES!
and here's the story
of how we came to be heart2heart circles
and how we came to this collaboration point in our lives.
Sit back and relax as we share our journey!
Once upon a time, 2 women of the same age, lived in the same neighborhood, with husband's of the same name.
Their prior journey's extended from the same areas of the country, and their dreams were very much the same.
These 2 women did not know of each other until.....an article from the Florida Times Union, written by Maggie Fitzroy, took flight.
The article, written about a drum workshop that Marilyn had coordinated in Ponte Vedra Beach with her drum class facilitator, Dean Slickis, was full of information about a new drumming experience happening at the beach.
That article was forwarded to Steve Alvarado, a participant of the workshop. Steve forwarded the article to another friend, Sandy Hartman, as she was interested in drumming and women's groups.
Now, Sandy knew a woman in Ponte Vedra Beach that was also interested in drumming and was a musician and singer/songwriter. Sandy sent the article on a magic carpet ride through the email to that woman. That woman was - Lynn Curtin.
One day, Lynn, no longer able to contain her curiosity, called the magical number in the newspaper. The number that held a possible new adventure for her.
Marilyn said 'Hello.'
The rest is the history of our one year collaboration, the heart2heart connection of...
Marilyn and Lynn -
Firestorm of Divine Energy and Gentle Healing Wind.
Firestorm and Gentle Wind realized they lived around the corner from each other and had been neighbors for at least 5 years. Their paths had crossed many times and they knew many of the same people - but the timing had not been right until NOW.
At their first meeting, they couldn't stop talking about where they had been and how they got here. It was an immediate soul connection. They shared their individual journeys and dreams.
Lynn, gentle healing wind, began performing in the 60's in the western U.S. in Boulder, Colorado where she sang and performed in coffee houses. Her talents and gifts continued to flourish as she expanded her territory into the night clubs, hotels, and supper clubs around the country including Las Vegas, San Francisco, L.A., Chicago, and Tallahassee. As time passed, she segued into hospice work committed to using music in the healing process. She married in the late 80's, and in time, put up her guitar while attending to husband and children. A move to the beach resort of Sawgrass Country Club in 2004 lifted the music veil once again. Lynn recorded a CD and performed within the residential area for club events and individual parties.
Who knew what was just ahead and around the corner? :)
Marilyn was raised as a military dependent affording her the opportunity to travel and mix with many different cultures. Her musical background extends to early days on the violin, typical tap and ballet performances, performing hula and playing ukelele in Hawaii, listening to steel drums and bongos in Key West, a little salsa and voodoo rhythms in the hills of Haiti and Puerto Rico -- rhythm, movement, and musical instruments were never far from her reach. Moving to Sawgrass Country Club with her husband in 2003, facing an empty nest, and taking a sabbatical from the world of employment recruiting, she began delving into her writing and workshop coordination as a way of connecting with her deeper creative spirit to continue searching for her new passion. Not a surprise to her when she picked up a frame drum at the community center -- she was back in sync with her dancing spirit.
Who knew what was just around the corner? :)
Their feminine voyages and individual dreams were about to transpire.
Firestorm dreamed of a starting a women's drum circles so she could bring her new love of the drum to other women.
Gentle Wind said, 'Let's do it. I'll do it with you.'
Additionally, they both continued to attend the bi-monthly drum classes at the local community center getting new ideas and practicing drum rhythms.
At the community center, Dean and another drummer, Ida Dougherty, mentioned Christine Stevens, an international music therapist and drum circle facilitator who was taking drum circles to another level and around the world.
Firestorm's interest was peaked. She purchased the drum CD and drums sold by Christine and together Firestorm and Gentle Wind began studying Christine's rhythms and drumming techniques.
Firestorm's dream of women's drum circle definitely grew wings as their knowledge and skills increased. Together they developed fliers and an outline, and began the Women's Drum Circle in October 2009. What a thrill! (Dream #1)
Now, Gentle Wind was also inspired. The Gentle Healing Wind of her musical spirit began singing again and writing wonderful new songs. White Buffalo was the first song to be born out of their collaboration of inspired spirit. Lynn birthed several other songs since then and continues to channel her creative muse.(Dream #2)
Everywhere they went, they performed White Buffalo and the audience could feel the heart and soul of the song.. No question at all, the heart and mission of heart2heart was pure and deep, touching everyone.
Their passion and energy continued as they developed more opportunities for women to gather. Rhythm and Words, another heart2heart inspiration, a workshop using inspirational life and spirit rhythms and stream of consciousness journal writing, was created to provide the space for women to look into their deeps and begin to hear, see, and feel the heartbeat of their early creative spirit. This successful and spiritual workshop continues in quarterly series with another one beginning this Fall. (Dream #3)
Firestorm and Gentle Wind perform for local organizations, open mic nights, and gatherings where they sing, drum, and offer interactive drum circles to interested and curious individuals. They bring their heart2heart to others' hearts and create special moments of joy. (Dream #4)
This month, June 2010, they joined with another local businesswoman and drummer, Debbie Young from Resonance Center, to begin a new drum circle that is open to everyone - men, women, and children. (Dream #5)
The women's drum circle will evolve into a Glory Circle, where women will gather for a sacred and more spiritual interaction. This is planned for later in the Fall. (Dream #6)
Monthly gatherings of women from Dare Your Divinity will be connecting again soon to bring drumming, activities, and shared stories to each other to further their understanding and wisdom as the Divine Feminine rises. The Dare Your Divinity group formed from a collaboration with Connor Sauer of Santa Fe. Connor, a weaver of women's spiritiuality and inner journeys, was introduced to Marilyn at a MoxyWomen Conference via Christine Stevens. Connor, Marilyn, and Lynn partnered on several events, including a drum circle workshop and the first-ever Dare Your Divinity event at the beach held at Ocean Yoga Center, with Kate Cordell. Now, this event will be tailored into a monthly gathering for women to continue their journey together, as women do!
.
.
These 2 women, Marilyn (firestorm) and Lynn (gentle wind), who met less than a year ago in September 2009, have transcended their daily routines and the prospect of early retirement. Through writing groups given by Sharon Elliott, they deepened their conscioius awareness and found a safe space in their hearts for the inner creativity to bloom.
By banding together in a form of interdependence, they follow their path of dreams giving and receiving the rhythm of community.
Together, in this collective consciousness of community connection, we are all experiencing an even deeper level of love, joy, and life. (Dream #7)
Firestorm and Gentle Wind invite you to join them in their ongoing journey and share with them their mission........... 'to connect the mind, body, heart, and soul of all people in a circle of harmony using rhythm and music as the universal language.'
A few of their recent events and dreams come true.......Performing at open mic night at the Homestead Restaurant; performing for the residents at ElmCroft Assisted Living; Shake, Rattle & Roll event at Fleet Landing; Grand Finale event at Hope Haven; completing their first Rhythm and Words Series; Assissting Jana Broder of Drum Magic at the Deepak Chopra Drum Circle at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club; performing for a yoga training event with Joan Ryan......
We are always 'Just A Drum Beat Away' ...... and welcome your comments, suggestions, desires, and love!
In Harmony and Heart2Heart,
Marilyn and Lynn
