Then one day....
Heart2Heart Circles participated in the Hands Across the Sand (HATS) gathering that took place in Jacksonville Beach, Fl on Saturday, June 26. They were over 260 of the hundreds of thousands of citizens across the country organized in similar events to stand up against expanded drilling off America's shores.
Part of Heart2Heart's mission is to connect the mind, body, heart, and soul of all people in a circle of harmony. This gathering allowed them to form a circle with others across the country as they all stood in unity with an historic outpouing of support to 'Stop Offshore Drilling - Find Alternative Fuels'.
In the midst of the largest oil spill in the nation's history, they asked.....'What's it going to take to protect the nation's beaches from more oil drilling once and for all?'
Hands Across the Sand began with a flash rally earlier this year in Florida and quickly turned into the largest-ever gathering of citizens united against drilling -- and for protecting the state's famous shores.
Gentle Wind - Lynn - attended the gathering in Jax Beach (see above photo) that was coordinated by Holly and Firestorm - me attended the gathering across the country in Alameda, California since she was on vacation out west at Yosemite Valley with her White Knight Husband, Frank, and were headed to the coast around 9AM when the research showed that due to the time difference, they wouldt have to miss the HATS gathering at all. They could make the 12 noon gathering in Alameda (just out of San Francisco).....if they hurried!!!!!!
In the Firestorm way, and as if they were in a sports car rally and headed to checkpoints throughout the state, they pressed the pedal to the medal (within reason) and headed for Crown Beach in Alameda. They were just in time to participate in the Hands Across the Sand at that location. Truly a coast to coast connection.!!
Carol Dvora was the coordinator for the Alameda gathering. She was so gracious to Firerstorm when she ran up to them and excitedly shared the story of the Florida/California connection and pretty much crashed their event. Here is the photo of some of the group attending and the link for more information and article. Serendipitously -- It was 45 years to the month, that Firestorm graduated from Alameda High School and moved to Florida. Now, here she was coming returning from Florida to California to make the connection. Certainly a serendipitous moment for her!
Until our next post -- Firestorm, signing off this time.
